The Colca is an enormous natural canyon located in southeastern Peru, 150 km. away from Arequipa city covered in its length by beautiful pre-Hispanic agricultural terraces which are still used today.

 

The combination of its practically intact nature and its culture, grown in perfect harmony with its Andean environment, make this area one of Peru’s highlight.

 

The Colca Canyon displays a unique natural landscape: gigantic eroded rocks, outlined by a permanently clear sky; the dramatic colors and forms of snow-capped mountains contrast the still steel blue waters of the lagoons.
