Good Birding!

Enjoy this video filmed by the Cruz Inca Team in the Chaparri Natural Reserve – Northern Region:

The Purple Collar Woodstar is a small but beautiful hummingbird. Distinguished by its warm brown colors underneath and a short white streak behind the eye, this small woodstar will captivate you with its fast but elegant moves.

The name comes from its brilliant purple and blue throat with greenish flanks. Its bill is longer than in all other woodstars and the tail is also long and forked. As rare species, it is best seen just after dawn when they gather to bathe at streams.

Contact Cruz Inca to enjoy the Chaparri Natural Reserve and the beautiful and magical experience of this Birdwatch destination.
