La Joya, the jewel of hidden walls
In the last days of November two Chachapoyas archaeological complexes were discovered in Amazonas. The Torrera fortress and the Citadel of the Gentiles are located in the remote annex of La Joya, in Chachapoyas, and aren’t registered by the National Institute of Culture yet. They are just two of the few sites in this region that still haven’t been reached by men, and are waiting to be discovered to the world. Just like Kuelap was, these complexes are covered by a dense forest that has maintained them very well hidden.
